Controlled Chaos is a type specimen book that I made in my second year typography II class. It consists of a deep look into the two typefaces Neue Montreal and ABC Maxi. The discussion of the book takes a look into the stark contrast between the forms and the rich history of the two typefaces. The book's design functions to uplift and spotlight the parts of the typefaces that are most unique and interesting. Big forms, little forms, chaos, and control, the pages will move with the shapes and with the eye.

Problem: Create a type specimen book comparing two different typefaces of your choice for second year typography II class. Must be at least 12 pages in length and provide comparisons between the typefaces, highlighting their differences and similarities.

Solution: Controlled chaos follows closely the forms and similarities of form between Neue Montreal and ABC Dinamo's Maxi. By visually showing order and disorder, the book aims to provide understanding of the importance of their similarities and differences. The book also provides information about the history of both typefaces, going in depth on why they work together on levels other than just visual.
